Electronics and Communication Engineering

Electronics is fundamental to many of the electrical and electronic appliances that we use today. This makes the job of an electronic engineer both exciting and challenging.
The department has started B. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1999, with an intake of 60, increased to 120 in 2005, 180 in 2011 and further increased to 240 in 2012. The Department has grown rapidly ever since its establishment. In 2006, department started Master's degree M. Tech in Wireless and Mobile Communication and Digital Electronics and Communication Systems with an intake of 18 and 36 respectively.
The Department is headed by Dr. T. Srinivasulu, a Senior Professor with vast teaching, industry and research experience and is ably supported by 30 well-qualified vibrant faculties, which includes 5 Professors, 3 Associate Professors and 22 Assistant Professors. Specializations of Faculty cover all major fields like Device electronics, Communications, Signal Processing, Embedded systems and VLSI design.
This program has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) since 2009.
ECE Department has 8 well established Air-Conditioned Laboratories cater to the needs of UG as well as PG students.

Some of the laboratories are:
1. Electronic Circuit Analysis (Aircconditioned)
2. IC Applications (Airconditioned)
3. Microprocessors and Microcontrollers (Airconditioned)
4. Electronic Computer Aided design laboratory (Airconditioned)
5. Analog and Digital Communications (Airconditioned)
6. Microwave and Optical Communication (Airconditioned)
7. DSP, P-SPICE, VHDL and MATLAB (Airconditioned)
8. Cadens VLSI Tools Lab (Airconditioned)
9. Microwave & Optical communications (Airconditioned)
Special Software packages like PSPICE, MATLAB, VHDL, MULTISIM, MODELSIM, RATIONAL, ROSE, KIEL are made available to Students.
Electronic Engineers Technical Association (VIVECA) organizes the co-curricular and extracurricular activities for the students to sharpen their creative capabilities. It periodically conducts quiz programmes, seminars, group discussions etc. to promote their professional interest and make them aware of the latest technological advances.
The ECE Department prepares students to pursue leadership, technical, and management positions in a variety of industries. Students have obtained prestigious placements at leading companies such as TCS, Infosys, Robert Bosch, CSC, Tech Mahindra, Mphasis, Covergys, Syntel etc. A few pursue their higher studies in prestigious institutions abroad as well as in India.
The main thrust of ECE Department is to provide better quality education required by the present industry and train the faculty in new technologies periodically to equip themselves in the present global scenario.
M. Tech (Wireless and Mobile Communications)The department of ECE offers M. Tech – Wireless & Mobile Communications (WMC) course from 2006 with an intake of 18. In the year 2010 the intake was increased to 36. This course aims to provide a comprehensive education in par excellence in the area of rapidly emerging wireless communication systems with well qualified Professors with decades of experience in the field of teaching and industry. The course content is meticulously engineered keeping in mind the current and future requirements of the wireless and the mobile industries. While the first semester develops the basics in communication and networking, the second semester concentrate on wireless and mobile systems.
To facilitate students to gain practical knowledge of subjects and to carry out advanced research and development activities in the field of wireless communications a state-of-the-art laboratory has been setup particularly to cater needs of M. Tech students.
M. Tech (Digital Electronics and Communication Systems)The department of ECE offers M. Tech - Digital Electronics & Communication course from 2009 with an intake of 18. This course aims to provide a comprehensive education at par with excellence in the area of Information and Communication with well qualified professors with decades of experience in the field of teaching and industry. Under this PG Course latest technologies like wireless communication networks, advanced digital signal processing, low power VLSI design, Network Security and Cryptography, Image and Video processing etc. are covered.
To facilitate students to gain practical knowledge of subjects and to carry out advanced research and development activities in the field of VLSI and Communications a state-of-the-art laboratory has been setup particularly to cater needs of M. Tech students.
